Why is greed the common denominator?
People often ask me what i do for a living and I tell them about my regular day-job (in the software industry). I realized the other day a number of people i work with on a daily basis do not even know about my business Happy Tiffin. Like Clark Kent’s double-life, I work 9-5 and I run Happy Tiffin almost every moment outside of those 40 hours. It’s not a cake-walk doing both… but it’s the most fulfilling part of my life, because it gets me outside of my head and into my heart – the meaning of who i am and what matters to me; simple math – not fuzzy math. The simple part is that i have the opportunity to do something meaningful with my life. I don’t want to be a taker – an unconscious person who sees only their self-contained existence. So what can i do while i’m here? Use my skills in web development, marketing, and tenacious business-mind to create a meaningful project. For a goal orientated person like myself – that is enough. My take away is being able to give back through Kiva and to keep my small team of people employed. Would it be awesome to have Happy Tiffin go BIG? YES! Help me with that okay?!
I am preaching to the choir here but i see no reason to use anything else other than stainless steel (big surprise). As a business owner i am inundated with offers for cheaper goods and cheaper quality products from large countries who display no discretion when it affects their pricing margins. The bottom line is that i do Happy Tiffin because i believe it is the right thing to do for our planet and our people. That is why i work two jobs. That is why i do not work with unscrupulous manufacturers or people (you know who you are). That is why i listen to everything YOU say and strive to make outstanding products from your feedback.
The more important message here is this – we can do better – we have better ways and means to produce reusable containers. It is beyond wrong to poison your customers with lazy and greedy production practices… which brings me back to this headline…
